The Potter Electric Signal PAD200-DUCT is an analog addressable duct smoke detector for HVAC applications. First, it ships complete with housing and the PAD200-DD photoelectric head. Then, sampling tubes extend into the duct. As a result, the detector senses smoke in commercial, industrial, and residential air handling systems.
Potter Electric Signal PAD200-DUCT operation
The PAD200-DUCT uses two sampling tubes that protrude into the duct. Specifically, an exhaust tube ships in a standard 7″ length. In addition, intake tubes are sold separately in 2.5 ft, 5 ft, and 10 ft lengths. Therefore, integrators size the intake tube to match the duct width.
The housing mounts with two sheet metal screws using a supplied template. Furthermore, the clear cover does not need to be removed for mounting. As a result, installation is faster than with traditional metal duct housings.

Sampling tube ordering
Order the intake sampling tube separately based on duct width. Specifically, STN-2.5 (stock 1000274) fits ducts up to about 2.5 ft. In addition, STN-5 (stock 1000275) covers ducts up to about 5 ft. Also, STN-10 (stock 1000276) handles ducts up to about 10 ft. Therefore, one part covers most standard duct widths.
