The Potter Electric Signal PAD300-DD is an analog addressable photoelectric duct smoke detector head. First, it mounts directly in a duct on a PAD300 base. Then, alternatively, it installs in a PAD300-DUCT or PAD300-DUCTR housing. As a result, integrators get a single detector head usable for in-duct, plenum, or housed installs.

The PAD300-DD is UL 268A listed for duct detection. Specifically, it complies with the open-area listing for in-duct plenum mounted applications. In addition, the detector twists onto any PAD300 series base. Therefore, integrators can adapt one head to multiple install methods.
The head uses Potter’s PAD protocol over the SLC loop. Furthermore, the address sets with DIP switches in the rear of the detector. As a result, no programming tool is needed to address the device.

Compatible bases
The PAD300-DD uses any PAD300 series base. Specifically, PAD300-4DB (stock 3992781) is the 4″ standard base. In addition, PAD300-6DB (stock 3992782) is the 6″ base. Therefore, integrators pick the base by aesthetic and box coverage needs.
