The Potter 1030-000 is a white surface-mount reflector wall bracket. Specifically, the bracket holds the prism reflector used with Fireray (FFE) beam-type smoke detectors. Furthermore, “Potter” reflects LSC’s distributor branding; the manufacturer is FFE / Space Age Electronics.
Where the Potter 1030-000 reflector wall bracket fits
Beam smoke detectors project an infrared beam across a large open space. Then a passive prism reflector returns the beam to the detector head. As a result, smoke crossing the beam attenuates the return signal and triggers an alarm. The 1030-000 secures that prism to the opposite wall.
Specifically, the bracket supports either a single-prism or four-prism mounting pattern. Also, the four-prism layout extends beam range for longer aisles, atria, and warehouses.
Dimensions and color
The bracket measures 11.20″ × 8.30″ × 0.50″. Furthermore, the finish is white powder coat. The companion black version is the 1031-000. Therefore, choose the color that minimizes contrast with the host wall finish.
Compatible with Unistrut
The mounting hole pattern fits standard Unistrut channel. In addition, the same pattern accepts surface mounting into drywall, masonry, or steel framing. As a result, the installer can adapt to whatever wall structure the building provides.
Install considerations for beam detectors
Beam detectors require precise reflector alignment. Specifically, the reflector must sit perpendicular to the beam path. Furthermore, vibration, building settlement, or HVAC airflow can drift alignment over time. Therefore, a rigid bracket like the 1030-000 reduces nuisance alarm risk.
