Horn-Strobe 2400 Series Fire Alarm….Temporal 2

The Edwards 2452THS-110-W is a 110 cd field-programmable temporal horn-strobe in the 2400 Series. First, this is a 24 VDC notification appliance for fire alarm NAC circuits. Specifically, it combines a low-frequency horn with a xenon strobe in a single white flush-mount housing. Therefore, it serves spaces that need both audible and visual notification from one device.

What the Edwards 2452THS-110-W horn-strobe does

This horn-strobe outputs a piercing low-frequency tone in the standard NFPA 72 temporal-three pattern. As a result, it cuts through moderate ambient noise in offices, schools, and corridors. In addition, the xenon strobe flashes at 60 fpm with 110 cd effective intensity. Then field programming lets installers select high or low horn output (95 dB or 85 dB at 1 m) to match the space.

Part number decode

Specifically: 2452 = 2400 Series temporal horn-strobe base; THS = Temporal Horn-Strobe; 110 = 110 cd strobe intensity; W = white housing. For the red-housing version, see the 2452THS-110-R. For lower-intensity 15/75 cd options, see the 2452THS-15/75-W and 2452THS-15/75-R.

Wiring notes

However, the 2400 Series horn requires a constant (not pulsed) voltage on the signal circuit. Therefore, do not wire this device to a coded or interrupted output. As a result, the temporal pattern is generated internally regardless of how the panel drives the NAC.
