The Kidde-Fenwal 33-30421 is a 9-pin null modem serial cable with an integrated female-to-male DB9 converter. First, the cable is designed for connecting a Windows PC to a Kidde-Fenwal AIR-Intelligence aspirating smoke detector. As a result, technicians can run the bundled PC Remote Software for ClassiFire configuration, event log review, and diagnostic baseline checks.
The 33-30421 replaces the legacy 30419 cable. In addition, the female-to-female main run plus the included converter give field techs flexibility across PC serial ports and USB-to-serial adapters.
33-30421 cable kit features
- 9-pin DB9 null modem cable, female-to-female
- Includes female-to-male DB9 converter for additional connection options
- Direct replacement for the legacy 30419 cable
- Used with Kidde-Fenwal AIR-Intelligence ASD-640 and related aspirating detectors
- Compatible with Kidde-Fenwal PC Remote Software (bundled with AIR-Intelligence detectors)
Typical use cases
Techs use this cable during initial detector setup. Specifically, ClassiFire artificial-intelligence baselining typically requires PC connection. In addition, periodic event log reviews and dust-discrimination diagnostics rely on the same RS-232 link. Therefore, the cable belongs in every Kidde-Fenwal AIR-Intelligence service kit.
What this part is NOT
The 33-30421 is not a network or data riser cable. Furthermore, it does not replace the SenseNET multi-drop RS-485 trunk used between ASD detectors. Therefore, do not substitute this cable for SenseNET wiring — that uses a different conductor specification entirely.
The cable is a passive assembly. As a result, it carries no standalone agency listing.
