The Edwards 4-ANNCPU is the central processor for every EST4 remote annunciator. First, it ships standard with all 4-XXANN annunciator assemblies. In addition, it provides mounting for up to two SFP network controllers, two USB 3.0 ports, and one 4-ANNAUDTEL module. As a result, a single CPU drives both networking and audio/telephone functions on EST4 annunciators.
Edwards 4-ANNCPU Electrical Specifications
Operating voltage runs from 16 to 32 VDC. Therefore, the CPU tolerates the full range of EST4 power supply outputs. Standby current is 183 mA at 16 VDC and 125 mA at 24 VDC. Also, alarm current is 188 mA at 16 VDC and 125 mA at 24 VDC. Furthermore, the TB1 backup power connection accepts 12 to 18 AWG wire.
Connectivity and Modules
One USB 3.0 Type A and one USB 3.0 Type B port handle local configuration and printing. In addition, the SFP cage accepts any 4-NET series SFP for fiber, twisted pair, or CAT5e network media. However, an optional 4-ANNAUDTEL support card is required before adding a 4-MIC paging microphone or 4-FT firefighter telephone. As a result, audio-equipped annunciators need both modules installed.
Operating Environment
Operating temperature: 32 to 120°F (0 to 49°C). Also, operating relative humidity: 0 to 93% noncondensing. Therefore, the CPU is suitable for normal indoor electrical and mechanical room environments. Ship weight: 1.0 lb (0.45 kg). The EST4 system carries UL 864 10th edition listings as a complete assembly.
