The Edwards 439D-6AW-R is a 6-inch (150 mm) vibrating fire-alarm bell, 24 VDC, diode-polarized, finished in red. Specifically, it produces a continuous bell tone for fire-alarm notification on commercial and industrial systems.
First, the diode-polarized circuit ensures the bell only responds to correct-polarity voltage. Then the striker strikes the gong in rapid-fire as long as current is applied. As a result, the bell delivers a sustained audible tone until the panel removes power.
