Genesis (45111104) 16/2 solid; fire alarm, plenum, unshielded; red; 1000 pull box

The Genesis 45111104 is a 16 AWG, 2-conductor solid power-limited fire alarm plenum cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries the triple-rated FPLP, CL3P, and CMP plenum listings. As a result, installers can route it through air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22(C). Furthermore, the cable ships in a 1000-foot REELEX pull box with a red low-smoke PVC plenum jacket.

Genesis 45111104 Specifications

The construction features bare copper solid conductors with FEP or polyolefin insulation. In addition, the heavier 16 AWG gauge reduces voltage drop on long NAC runs. Furthermore, the cable is rated for 300 volts maximum. Also, a rip cord assists jacket stripping. The jacket is red for easy identification as a fire alarm circuit.

Installation Notes for Genesis 45111104

First, the FPLP plenum rating allows install in plenum, riser, and general spaces. Therefore, this cable can substitute for an FPLR riser cable but not vice versa. Then, 16 AWG carries more current than 18 AWG. As a result, this gauge is common on NAC circuits with multiple horns or strobes. However, the jacket is plenum PVC, not LSZH.
