The Edwards 55-6AM is a 6-inch AC general-purpose vibrating bell. It runs on 8 VAC or 6 VDC, 60 Hz with a 0.8 to 1.0 A current draw. The exposed striker hits a 6-inch gray gong.

The 55-6AM is a general-purpose signaling bell. For example, it covers shift-change signals, paging-system alerts, security warnings, and process-line status. In addition, the low current draw makes it well-suited to long wire runs in larger facilities.
Important: This Is a Light-Duty General-Purpose Bell, Not a Fire-Alarm Bell
The 55-6AM is not UL 464 listed as a fire-alarm audible signal. Therefore, do not specify it as a fire-alarm NAC device. For fire-alarm bells, use the Edwards 439D-6AW or 439D-6AW-R series instead. As a result, the 55-6AM is best left to general industrial signaling work.
