How the 57PLED Naming Works
First, the “57PLED” identifies the Polaris LED beacon in the 57 Series housing. Then the “M” indicates multi-voltage. Next, the lens-color letter follows. For example, MB = blue, MA = amber, MG = green, MM = magenta, MR = red, MW = white. Then “24” is the nominal voltage. Finally, the trailing “ADB” indicates a black base — change to “ADG” for a gray base.
Where the 57 Series Polaris Fits
This beacon suits industrial and commercial signaling. For example, it covers process alarms, machine status, hazard warnings, security signaling, and high-noise area indication. In addition, the NEMA 4X / IP66 housing handles washdown areas, exterior loading docks, and similar environments. Important: This Is an Industrial Beacon, Not a Fire-Alarm Device
The 57PLEDMB24ADB is UL 1638 listed (visual signal appliances). However, it is not UL 1971 listed for fire-alarm visual notification. Therefore, do not specify it on a fire-alarm NAC where UL 1971 candela ratings are required. As a result, the Polaris LED is best used for industrial signaling, not fire-alarm notification.
