The Notifier ACT-4 is an audio coupling transformer used to electrically isolate DVC-AO analog audio risers. First, it breaks ground loops between risers fed by different power supplies. As a result, audio stays clean across multi-cabinet DVC voice systems.
What the Notifier ACT-4 does
The DVC-AO option board on a Notifier DVC drives up to four analog audio output channels. Specifically, the ACT-4 sits on those analog risers to provide galvanic isolation. In addition, it helps prevent common-mode noise from coupling between cabinets.
Where the ACT-4 is required
The ACT-4 is required when DVC-AO analog risers cross between cabinets with separate power supplies. Therefore, it is a key part of large distributed AA-Series amplifier installations. Also, it is part of the standard Notifier DVC system accessory line.
