The Siemens audio input card, Model AIC, feeds external audio sources into a Siemens voice evacuation system. Specifically, it serves FireFinder XLSV and Desigo Fire Safety Modular panels. As a result, facilities can route paging or recorded audio through the fire alarm speakers.
The AIC provides two independent, isolated analog audio inputs. In addition, it includes two dry-contact inputs that activate each audio channel separately. Therefore, each input can switch on automatically through system logic or manually from the voice-control panel. Typical sources include a PBX telephone interface for convenience paging, CD players, or tape recorders.

Mounting and System Limits
The AIC occupies one card slot. Specifically, it mounts in a Model CC-2 or CC-5 card cage. These card cages install inside CAB-1, CAB-2, or CAB-3 enclosures. Furthermore, the card’s CAN network connection must come from one Model DAC-NET. A single FireFinder XLS node supports a maximum of two AIC cards.
