The System Sensor B501 is a 4-inch flangeless plug-in detector base. It provides a clean, low-profile mount for System Sensor 200-Series intelligent detector heads. As a result, the detector sits flush for a discreet ceiling appearance.
The base itself is a passive mounting platform. Specifically, the installed detector head handles all addressable communication. Therefore, the B501 simply provides wiring terminals and a secure detector mount.
System Sensor B501 Wiring and Mounting
Screw terminals connect power and a remote LED annunciator. In addition, the terminals accept 12 to 24 AWG wire. Communication then takes place over the power lines through the detector head.
The B501 mounts to standard electrical boxes. Also, an optional mechanical locking feature deters unwanted detector removal. As a result, the head stays secure in tamper-prone areas.
