The Protectowire BC-3N is a Type N beam clamp assembly for mounting Protectowire linear heat detector (LHD) cable to steel structural beams. It pairs an iron, zinc-plated beam clamp with a nylon WAW clip and snap button.
First, the clamp grips the flange of a steel I-beam or comparable structural member. Then the nylon WAW clip holds the LHD cable in place along the run. As a result, the detector cable is lightly clamped rather than crushed — which protects the inner insulation from damage that could cause false alarms.
The “N” suffix designates the nylon clip variant. For the polypropylene variant, see the BC-3P. Furthermore, only Protectowire-approved fasteners should be used on Protectowire LHD cable.
