The DSC BV-500 is a ceiling-mount passive infrared motion detector with a Form A alarm contact. Specifically, it is part of the DSC Bravo 5 family for hardwired intrusion-detection systems, not fire alarm.
First, mount the BV-500 to the ceiling above the area to be supervised. Then, wire the Form A normally-closed alarm contact to a compatible DSC intrusion-panel zone input. As a result, the BV-500 reports motion events as a contact opening on the host security loop.

The detector uses an advanced quad PIR element with a Fresnel lens for 360° coverage. In addition, Multi-Level Signal Processing (MLSP) provides consistent detection across the pattern. Furthermore, temperature compensation maintains catch performance at body-ambient temperatures.

Typical Application
Use the BV-500 on conventional zone loops for hardwired intrusion supervision. However, the BV-500 is not a fire-alarm device. Therefore, do not connect it to a fire alarm SLC or IDC loop.
