The Siemens CAB-BATT-R is a red battery box, Part Number 500-634925, for Siemens fire alarm systems. It houses large backup batteries that will not fit inside the main panel enclosure. As a result, your system keeps code-required standby power in a dedicated, protected cabinet.
The CAB-BATT-R consists of a backbox and a door. The door is permanently hinged on the left. Also, a black version is available as the Siemens CAB-BATT (Part Number 500-633917).
Siemens CAB-BATT-R Battery Compatibility
First, the CAB-BATT-R houses BTX-2 (55AH) batteries for Siemens MXL systems. In addition, it holds BTX-2 (55AH) and BTX-3 (100AH) batteries for FireFinder XLS, Desigo Fire Safety Modular, and Cerberus PRO Modular systems. Furthermore, it accepts 100AH battery sets for the FS-250 and FS-250C systems.
Mounting Options
Place the battery box on the floor directly under the fire panel enclosure it serves. Alternatively, mount it to a flat surface with four user-supplied bolts up to 3/8 inch in diameter. Knockouts in the top align with the fire panel enclosure for battery wiring. However, seismic installations have extra requirements. In that case, place the box on the floor, wall-mount it, and add the CAB-55-BRKT or CAB-100-BRKT bracket kit.
