The Fire-Lite CAC-4 is a Class A converter module for the Fire-Lite SFP-2404 conventional fire alarm control panel. Specifically, it converts the panel’s circuits from Class B to Class A operation. In addition, it works only with the SFP-2404.
Therefore, installations that require Class A redundancy can upgrade an SFP-2404 without replacing the panel. As a result, you keep the original control unit and add fault-tolerant wiring.
What the Fire-Lite CAC-4 Converts
The CAC-4 converts both initiating device circuits (IDC) and notification appliance circuits (NAC). Specifically, it converts Style B IDCs to Style D (Class A). Furthermore, it converts Style Y NACs to Style Z (Class A).
As a result, a single break in the loop does not disable downstream devices. Therefore, the system remains functional during a wiring fault.
How the CAC-4 Installs
The module plugs into the SFP-2404 main board. Specifically, it connects to header J1 on the panel.
In addition, no separate power supply is required. Also, the module draws its operating power directly from the host panel.
