The Gamewell FML-E3 is the multi-mode fiber loop module for the E3 Series ARCNET network. First, the module plugs into the RPT-E3-UTP Network Repeater or an INI-VG Series voice gateway. Then it transmits or receives one ARCNET channel over fiber between panel nodes.
How the Gamewell FML-E3 fits the network
The FML-E3 is a single-channel module. Specifically, up to two FML-E3 modules install into each RPT-E3-UTP or INI-VG host. As a result, one host can carry up to two fiber channels into the E3 Series ARCNET ring.
In addition, a single-mode counterpart, the FSL-E3, covers long-distance runs that multi-mode fiber cannot reach. Therefore, integrators choose between FML-E3 (multi-mode) and FSL-E3 (single-mode) based on the fiber plant already in place.
