The Bosch FMM-462-D is a double-action addressable manual pull station with an integrated POPIT module. First, the device requires two distinct actions to activate. Then the included POPIT module reports the alarm back to a G-Series panel over a two-wire data expansion circuit.
Specifically, the double-action design lifts a cover then pulls a latching alarm lever. As a result, accidental and malicious false alarms are reduced. In addition, a key-locked reset returns the lever to normal after the event.
Where the Bosch FMM-462-D fits
The FMM-462-D works only with Bosch G-Series control communicators that support the POPIT data expansion bus. For example, the D9412G, D7412G, and D7212G panels host POPIT modules on their two-wire expansion loops. However, this station is not compatible with the newer GV4 SDI2 panels. Therefore, verify panel platform before specifying.
Addressing and reporting
First, the included POPIT module is addressed using on-board slide switches. Then the host panel polls the POPIT and reports back. Specifically, the panel reports any opens, shorts, or ground faults on the manual station’s wiring. As a result, responders go directly to the point that initiated the alarm.
Construction and compliance
The FMM-462-D is a die-cast device with a low profile and rounded edges. In addition, it uses non-toxic materials throughout. Also it conforms to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for reach and operation. The finish is standard fire-alarm red with white English lettering.
