The Edwards GCF-HDVMH is a Genesis Series ceiling-mount horn-strobe in white with FIRE marking and high-candela Xenon output. First, the strobe offers field-selectable 95, 115, 150, or 177 candela settings. As a result, it covers large open spaces where standard 15-110 cd devices would not satisfy NFPA 72 spacing.
The horn-strobe uses Edwards FullLight technology with a cavity-based optical design. Specifically, this produces a smooth, controlled light distribution without the spikes or voids typical of reflector-based strobes. In addition, the horn delivers a multiple-frequency tone for improved wall penetration.
Verified Electrical Specifications
The Edwards GCF-HDVMH operates on filtered 16 to 33 VDC or unfiltered 16 to 33 VFWR. At 24 VDC with high-dB setting and 95 cd output, typical current draw is 220 mA RMS. Then current rises to 252 mA at 115 cd, 304 mA at 150 cd, and 341 mA at 177 cd. As a result, NAC budgeting depends on the selected candela setting.
Sound Output
At 24 VDC with high-dB setting, the horn produces 83.3 dBA temporal or 85.4 dBA steady per UL 464. Furthermore, peak output reaches 96.6 dBA in anechoic measurement. Low-dB output is jumper-selected and reduces output by approximately 5 dB. Also, temporal-three (T3) is required for fire alarm notification per NFPA 72.
Synchronization
Strobes synchronize within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period when used with a sync source. Compatible sync modules include the G1M-RM Genesis Signal Master, SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, BPS6A, and BPS10A. Therefore, mixed Genesis appliances on one NAC stay in sync without drift.
Mounting
The GCF-HDVMH mounts to a standard North American 4-inch square box, 2-1/8 inches deep (indoor only). No extension ring or trim plate is needed. The device is 6.8 inches in diameter and protrudes 1.0 inches from the surface with 0.60 inches required behind. Markings can be changed via field-swap covers.
