The Edwards GCVWN is a Genesis LED Series ceiling-mount strobe in white with no marking. First, it provides field-selectable 15, 30, 75, or 115 candela output for visual notification. As a result, one device serves multiple coverage areas with NFPA 72 spacing requirements. The Edwards GCVWN uses energy-efficient LED technology that reduces NAC loading versus Xenon strobes.

Specifically, the candela settings are DISCRETE field-selectable values via slide switch. Therefore, the GCVWN is not a continuous-range dimmable strobe. The selected setting remains visible through a small window after the cover is closed.

Verified Electrical Specifications

The Edwards GCVWN operates on 16 to 33 VDC or 16 to 33 VFWR. Then current draw is a flat 35 mA RMS at 16-33 VDC across all cd settings. For VFWR power, current is 45 mA RMS. As a result, system designers can budget current once for all settings, simplifying NAC planning.

Synchronization

The Edwards GCVWN synchronizes within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period when used with a sync source. Furthermore, compatible sync modules include CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and intelligent or conventional control panels. Also, LED devices may be mixed on the same circuit with legacy Xenon strobes.

Mounting and Wiring

The GP10 room side wiring plate ships INCLUDED with the device. Then installers pre-wire the plate, verify continuity with the supplied diagnostic check bar, and snap the appliance in place. Compatible electrical boxes include 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square at 1-1/2 inch minimum depth. The appliance is UL-listed for both ceiling AND wall mount.

Dimensions and Listings

The Edwards GCVWN measures 6.8 inches in diameter by 1.82 inches deep. In addition, optional EGCTW (white) or EGCTR (red) trim plates cover oversized openings. Listings: UL 1971 (strobe), UL 1638. Operating environment: 32 to 122 F, 0 to 93% RH non-condensing.
