The Genesis 43141004 is a 14 AWG, 4-conductor solid riser-rated fire alarm cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries the Type FPLR power-limited fire alarm rating. As a result, installers can run it vertically between floors in commercial buildings. The cable ships on a 1000-foot reel in red, the standard fire alarm circuit color.

The construction features bare copper conductors with polypropylene insulation. In addition, the outer PVC jacket is sunlight-resistant for exposed pulls. Furthermore, the cable is rated for 300 volts and an operating range of -20°C to 75°C. Nominal weight is 62 lbs per 1000 feet.

Installation Applications
First, the FPLR rating allows installation in vertical risers per NEC Article 760. Then, it also runs in metal raceways meeting NEC 300.22(B). However, the cable is not plenum-rated. Therefore, do not install it in air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22(C); use the plenum-rated 45141004 instead.
