The Honeywell HON-DACT-DS is the DS Dialer for Notifier addressable fire alarm panels. The DS Dialer supports a specific list of Honeywell-family panels. The HON-DACT-DS works with the major central station receiver platforms. Specifically, supported receivers include Ademco 685, Ademco MX8000, Silent Knight 9500 and 9800, Honeywell FBI CP220FB, Osborne Hoffman 2000E, Radionics 6600, and SurGard MLR2, System III, and MLR-2000. As a result, the installer matches the dialer to the monitoring company’s receiver fleet.
Reporting Capabilities
The dialer reports a comprehensive event set. These include independent zone or point alarm, trouble, and supervisory events. Also reported are security panel off-normal, NAC trouble, and AC main power loss. Furthermore, the system generates Central Station reports through CLSS Site Manager for inspection record-keeping.
Visual diagnostics include LED indicators for Lost Panel Connection, Central Station Handshake Signal, and Communication Failure. Therefore, a technician can identify the failure mode at the dialer enclosure without a laptop.
Important Note on Phone Service
The DS Dialer requires two POTS (plain old telephone service) lines. Specifically, both lines must support analog dialing and dial tone detection. As a result, sites moving to all-IP phone service may require an alternative communication path — for example, a Honeywell CLSS Gateway with cellular module or a dedicated IP communicator.
