The KIDDE COMMERCIAL FX-SLC1 is a Single SLC Interface Card for the Kidde FX-series intelligent fire alarm control panels. Specifically, it installs in the FX-64 or FX-1000 panel.

First, the card provides 64 device addresses when installed in an FX-64 panel. Then, it provides 250 device addresses per loop when installed in an FX-1000 panel. Specifically, that 250 count splits into 125 detectors and 125 modules.

In addition, the FX-1000 supports up to three FX-SLC1 cards across two slots. As a result, FX-1000 panel capacity can grow in 250-point steps via this single-loop card.

Key Features of the KIDDE COMMERCIAL FX-SLC1 Single SLC Interface Card

  • One signaling line circuit (SLC) per card
  • FX-64: 64 device addresses (any mix of detectors and modules)
  • FX-1000: 250 device addresses per loop (125 detectors + 125 modules)
  • Class B, Class A, and Class X wiring options
  • Two on-board status LEDs: DS1 device communication and DS3 loop fault
  • Primary slot J15 = panel SLC1; secondary slot J7 = SLC2 (or SLC3 if a dual SLC card occupies J15)
  • Up to 64 isolators per loop (bases plus modules)
  • Field labels included to mark the correct SLC number on the panel

Wiring Notes

First, the FX-SLC1 supports Class B, Class A, and Class X wiring. However, Class A and Class X both require isolator modules or isolator detector bases. Furthermore, NFPA 72 limits Class A loops to a maximum of 50 addressable devices between isolators. In addition, Class X requires unisolated devices to be mounted in a listed enclosure with isolators on the incoming and outgoing wiring.
