The Kidde KI-HRD is an intelligent fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector. It pairs two heat-sensing methods in one Signature Series addressable device.

First, the rate-of-rise function trips at a 15°F per minute rise. As a result, fast-developing fires get caught early. Then the fixed-temperature element trips at 135°F (57°C). Therefore, slow-building heat events also produce an alarm.

The detector reports status continuously to the Signature loop controller. In addition, it runs ongoing self-diagnostics and stores results in non-volatile memory. As a result, technicians can pull maintenance history straight from the panel.

Compatible Panels

The Kidde KI-HRD works only with panels equipped with a Signature loop controller. Specifically, it is supported on Kidde VM-1, VS1, and VS4 control panels. Furthermore, the device is interchangeable with Vigilant- and Edwards-branded Signature loops.

Compatible Mounting Bases

Choose a base that fits the install. For standard mounting, use KI-SB or KI-SB4. For relay output, use KI-RB or KI-RB4. For Class A short-isolator service, use KI-IB or KI-IB4. Alternatively, KI-ABDT and KI-ABLT integrate a local sounder.
