The Siemens MH-501 is a double-action manual release station for agent-release fire suppression systems. Specifically, it gives personnel a deliberate way to trigger clean-agent discharge by hand. The Siemens part number is 500-622543.
The station uses two distinct actions. First, the operator pushes in the front tab. Then, the exposed pull-down lever becomes accessible. When pulled, the lever locks in position and releases a spring-loaded contact switch. As a result, accidental discharges are far less likely than with single-action stations.
Siemens MH-501 Key Features
- Double-action operation: push-in tab, then pull-down lever
- One (1) normally open contact
- Rated at 120VAC for connection to other manufacturers’ systems
- Durable molded polycarbonate housing, matte red with raised white lettering
- Keyed reset — opening the hinged cover with the reset key restores the station
- Surface or semi-flush mounting to conduit boxes
- UL Listed
Compatibility
Siemens documents the MH-501 in its Sinorix engineered fire suppression line. Therefore, it pairs with Siemens fire safety detection systems listed for releasing service. However, the 120VAC-rated contact also allows connection to other manufacturers’ release circuits. For Canadian applications, Siemens offers the MSM-RB in yellow as the manual release station.
Resetting
After activation, the lever stays locked in the alarm position. To restore it, open the hinged housing with the reset key. Then, close and lock the cover. Finally, reset the releasing panel per the system instructions.
