The Notifier DS-XF70V is a step-up transformer for the DS series voice-evacuation amplifiers. Specifically, it converts a DS-AMP, DS-AMPE, or DS-BDA to 70 VRMS at 100 W. In addition, the default amplifier output is 25 VRMS at 125 W. As a result, installers can match the amplifier to long speaker-circuit runs that need higher line voltage.
First, the host amplifier without the transformer drives a 25 V speaker network at 125 W. Then, with the DS-XF70V installed, the same amplifier drives a 70 V speaker network at 100 W. Therefore, the choice depends on circuit length and speaker-tap configuration.
Notifier DS-XF70V host compatibility
The transformer is specified for three host devices. Specifically, the DS-AMP is the 120 VAC amplifier. In addition, the DS-AMPE is the 220-240 VAC variant. Also, the DS-BDA is the booster amplifier. As a result, the DS-XF70V converts any of the three to 70 V output.
Furthermore, the transformer is intended for field installation inside the amplifier enclosure. Alternatively, it can be installed at the factory when ordered with the amplifier as a kit.
What ships with the DS-XF70V
The DS-XF70V ships as the transformer with the connection hardware required for the host amplifier. In addition, refer to the DS-AMP/DS-AMPE/DS-BDA install manual for the field-conversion procedure.
