The Fire-Lite P48-21-00 is a System Sensor end cap for metal sampling tubes. First, it caps the open end of a duct detector sampling tube. Then it seals the tube against dust and airflow leakage. As a result, the duct smoke detector samples air accurately.

Duct smoke detectors draw air through a sampling tube that spans the duct. The P48-21-00 closes the far end of that metal tube. Therefore air enters only through the intake holes, as designed. This helps prevent nuisance alarms from dust or contaminants. Also, it keeps sampling consistent over time.
