The Potter CS-24WRW is an indoor wall-mount strobe with a red lens and off-white body. First, the unit offers tamperproof field-selectable settings of 15, 30, 60, 75, and 110 candela. In addition, a break-off pin can lock the candela setting against tampering.
The strobe operates at 24 VDC nominal across a 16-33 VDC input range. Furthermore, the unit maintains at least 1 Hz flash rate regardless of input voltage. Specifically, the strobe is ADA-ready and meets ANSI/UL 1971 polar dispersion requirements.
Potter CS-24WRW current draw and listings
Strobe current scales with the candela setting at 24 VDC regulated. Through the red lens, the values are 105 mA at 15cd, 130 mA at 30cd, and 203 mA at 60cd. In addition, the strobe draws 243 mA at 75cd and 310 mA at 110cd.
Also, the appliance is polarized for circuit supervision. Furthermore, the CS series is listed under ANSI/UL 1638 and CSFM 7135-0328:0209. Therefore, the unit suits NFPA 72 public-mode notification appliance circuits.
Installation and mounting
The unit ships with a Super-Slide® die-cast universal 4″ mounting bracket. Specifically, the bracket fits a single-gang, double-gang, or 4″ square back box. In addition, the included AVBB surface back box supports exposed-wall installation.
The Checkmate® feature lets you verify voltage at the unit without removing it from the bracket. Then sync the strobe with a Gentex protocol or an AVSM module if needed. Also, terminals accept 18-12 AWG wire across a 32°F-120°F indoor operating range. As a result, the CS-24WRW ships at 1.05 lbs with a 5-year warranty.
