The POTTER PAD300-LFSB is an addressable low frequency sounder base for Potter IPA and AFC/ARC Series panels. It produces a 520 Hz ± 10% square wave. As a result, the base meets NFPA 72 sleeping-space audibility requirements. Specifically, the lower frequency wakes occupants more reliably, including those with mild to severe hearing loss.
How the POTTER PAD300-LFSB Operates
The sounder module is independent of the SLC. Therefore, it does not consume a loop address. Instead, the base uses Potter’s PAD sub-point addressing feature. As a result, the device can be programmed as a single-station, zone, or all-call sounder.
Furthermore, the sounder passes through the sound pattern sent by the power supply. Therefore, the base reproduces any pattern the power source provides. In addition, the detector head is held in place by an optional locking feature.
Mounting and Wiring
The base mounts directly to a 1-gang, 4-inch square, 4-inch octagon, or several other electrical-box patterns. Specifically, the base accepts single-gang, double-gang, 3-1/2″ square, and 4″ square boxes. Also supported are 3-1/2″ and 4″ octagon boxes plus 50/60/70 mm c/c patterns. Also, terminals accept 22 to 12 AWG.
