The Siemens PTB is the Power Termination Board for Siemens FireFinder XLS and Desigo Modular fire alarm panels. It filters incoming AC mains power. Then it distributes that power to the panel’s power supplies.
The PTB is required for operation with the PSC-12 Power Supply Charger. It contains an AC-line filter and an AC-line power breaker rated at 5A. Therefore, it serves as the panel’s AC entry and protection point.
Siemens PTB Capacity and Expansion
Each PTB supports AC connection circuits for two power supplies. First, it feeds one PSC-12 main supply. Second, it can optionally feed one PSX-12 Power Supply Extender. However, systems with more than one PSX-12 extender require a second PTB.
Mounting
The PTB mounts in the lower-right corner of the CAB system enclosure. As a result, AC wiring stays in one consistent, serviceable location. Installation should be performed by a qualified fire alarm technician.
