The Silent Knight SD505-T2 is a 2.5-foot air sampling tube for duct smoke detector installations. It fits the Silent Knight SD505-DUCT and SD505-DUCTR duct detector housings. Specifically, the tube draws air from the HVAC duct into the detector chamber. The detector then checks that air for smoke.
The sampling tube is steel with intake holes along its length. During installation, those holes face into the duct airflow. In addition, the tube should span the full width of the duct. Therefore, match the tube length to your duct size. The SD505-T2 fits ducts from 6 inches to 2.5 feet wide.
