The Siemens ZR-MC-CR is a red, ceiling-mount strobe in the Siemens Series Z line. Specifically, it is a multi-candela visual notification appliance. As a result, it provides clear overhead strobe coverage in fire alarm systems.
Siemens ZR-MC-CR candela settings
The ZR-MC-CR uses field-selectable candela output. First, installers can choose 15, 30, 75, or 95 candela. Therefore, a single ceiling device adapts to many room sizes. Each candela rating reflects minimum effective intensity under UL Standard 1971.
The ZR-MC-CR is a visual-only appliance. However, it pairs with Series Z horns on the same circuit when audible signaling is also needed.
Series Z snap-on base
The strobe shares the common Series Z snap-on base. As a result, the base can be pre-wired and tested before installation. Then the appliance snaps onto the base once the ceiling work is complete. Furthermore, removing an installed appliance reports a trouble condition when supervision is enabled.
