The Siemens ZU-35TS is a dual zone module for the legacy Siemens (Cerberus Pyrotronics) System 3 fire alarm panel. Its part number is 500-885420. Life Safety Consultants supplies this module reconditioned, with a one-year warranty.
The module supervises two initiating circuits. When a detector or shorting-type device operates, the module locks into alarm. The panel then starts its programmed sequence. For example, that can include sounding audibles, operating alarm transmitters, closing doors, shutting down fans, and recalling elevators.
Siemens ZU-35TS test switches
The “TS” version adds a 3-position momentary test switch for each zone. Center is the normal position. One side position tests the zone trouble signal. The other side tests a zone alarm signal. Notably, these switches are a requirement for US Coast Guard approval on marine systems.
Installation
The module occupies one module space in the System 3 rail structure. It interconnects through a ten-pin plug and harness assembly. Therefore, swapping a failed module is a rail-and-harness job, not a rewiring project.
