The Simplex 4010-6304 is a 4120 multi-mode “Right” (MM-R) duplex fiber media card for 4010ES network interface cards. It carries 4120 network traffic between panels over multi-mode fiber.
First, the card mounts to the 4010-9922 Network Interface Card (NIC). Then it provides one “right” fiber port for the duplex 4120 channel. In addition, a paired left-port card on the other panel completes the link. As a result, field connections always pair left-to-right between adjacent nodes.
Each NIC accepts a maximum of one left-port card and one right-port card. Therefore, daisy-chaining nodes requires both a left and a right media card per intermediate panel.
Simplex 4010-6304 Fiber Specifications
The card supports two fiber sizes. Furthermore, it works with both 50 µm and 62.5 µm multi-mode graded-index fiber, each with 125 µm cladding. Alternatively, the broader 4120 fiber media family also supports 9 µm core single-mode fiber with 125 µm cladding.
