The Simplex 4010-9403 is the 120 V, red 4010ES basic fire alarm control unit with a backlit LED display. First, it serves as the host panel for IDNet addressable detection. In addition, it suits mid-size commercial buildings such as schools and clinics. Therefore, technicians choose it as a direct replacement for older 4010 platform panels.
4010ES Basic Control Unit Architecture
This basic 4010ES variant ships in a single-bay enclosure. Specifically, the panel houses the CPU board, the integral power supply, and the user interface. Furthermore, the host CPU runs the site-specific job configuration. As a result, the 4010-9403 stores its program in onboard compact-flash memory. Also, the LED indicators report power, alarm, supervisory, and trouble conditions at a glance.
Communication and Networking
An onboard Ethernet port supports diagnostics and service uploads. Then, optional network interface cards extend the panel onto a 4120 network. In addition, the basic platform supports IDNet+ addressable communication for smart sensors. Therefore, the 4010-9403 integrates with TrueAlarm detectors and TrueAlert notification appliances.
Application Notes
Use the 4010-9403 when the project calls for a 120 V AC primary input. However, deployments on 230/240 V mains should specify the 4010-9501 instead. Furthermore, the red cabinet color follows the NFPA convention for life-safety equipment.
