The Simplex 4081-9002 EOL resistor is a 3.3K ohm, 1 watt end-of-line resistor for Simplex fire alarm circuits. It installs at the far end of a supervised circuit. As a result, the control panel can monitor that circuit for faults.
How the Simplex 4081-9002 EOL resistor works
A supervised circuit carries a small monitoring current through the resistor. The panel reads that current as a normal condition. However, an open or short changes the current. Therefore, the panel reports a trouble or alarm state.
