The Simplex 4081-9004 is a 6.8K ohm, 1/2 watt end-of-line resistor for Simplex fire alarm circuits. It installs at the far end of a supervised circuit. As a result, the control panel can monitor that circuit for faults.
How the Simplex 4081-9004 works
A supervised circuit carries a small monitoring current through the resistor. The panel reads that current as normal. However, an open or short changes the current. Therefore, the panel reports a trouble or alarm state.

The resistance value is 6.8K ohms. The power rating is 1/2 watt. Specifically, the value must match the supervision requirement of the circuit it terminates. Also, confirm the correct end-of-line value for your panel before installation.
