The Simplex 4090-9002 is an Individual Addressable Relay Module (Relay IAM). It gives a Simplex fire alarm panel one Form C (SPDT) dry contact to control auxiliary equipment.
Typical uses include elevator capture, HVAC shutdown, fan control, and damper actuation. In addition, the module reports its contact status back to the panel. As a result, the panel can verify that the controlled function actually fired.
The 4090-9002 is a latching low-power design. Therefore, IDNet communication wiring supplies both the data and the operating power. Furthermore, no separate 24 VDC pull is needed at the device.
