The Simplex 4098-9756 is an addressable duct smoke detector housing that uses TrueAlarm analog sensing to monitor for smoke in HVAC ducts. Unlike the simpler 4098-9755 (no relay), the 4098-9756 adds a supervised output for up to 15 remote PAM-SD relays under panel control — the relay can be activated manually from the panel or triggered by an alarm or other input. The factory-installed photoelectric sensor communicates analog values digitally over MAPNET II or IDNet (auto-select, one address per housing), with sensitivity selectable at the fire alarm control panel across 7 levels: 0.2% to 3.7% per foot of obscuration. Duct applications typically call for 2.5%/ft or higher due to dilution.
