SIMPLEX (M500XJ) Fault Isolator Module
The Simplex M500XJ fault isolator protects an addressable communication loop from short circuits. First, it isolates a shorted segment automatically. As a result, the rest of the loop keeps operating during the fault.
How the Simplex M500XJ fault isolator works
An onboard LED shows the module’s status at a glance. Specifically, it blinks during normal conditions. Then it turns on steady when a short circuit occurs. Once the short is cleared, the module restores the loop automatically.
Installation
Mounting is simple and familiar to technicians. Specifically, the module fits a 4-inch square electrical box. In addition, that box needs a minimum depth of 2-1/8 inches. As a result, the part drops into common rough-in hardware.
