The Gentex SSPKCLPW is a universal-mount fire alarm speaker from the Gentex SSPKCLP Series. It operates on 25 or 70.7 VRMS audio circuits with field-selectable power taps. As a result, the SSPKCLPW supports voice evacuation, mass-notification audio, and tone signaling. Furthermore, it ships with an off-white faceplate and plain (no lettering) bezel.
Gentex SSPKCLPW Specifications
The SSPKCLPW provides field-selectable power taps of 1/8W, 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W, and 4W. In addition, both 25 VRMS and 70.7 VRMS operation are field-selectable on the same unit. Also, the frequency response is 400–4000 Hz — intelligible for voice messaging. Furthermore, screw terminals accept 12–18 AWG wire with separate in/out connections.
Per the Gentex datasheet, sound output at 10 ft at 70.7 V is 73.7 dBA (1/8W), 76.7 dBA (1/4W), 79.6 dBA (1/2W), 82.5 dBA (1W), 85.4 dBA (2W), and 87.9 dBA (4W). At 25 V output is 74.6 dBA (1/8W), 77.7 dBA (1/4W), 80.5 dBA (1/2W), 83.1 dBA (1W), 85.6 dBA (2W), and 87.9 dBA (4W). Unit dimensions are 6.1″ square × 2.95″ deep.

Installation Notes for Gentex SSPKCLPW
First, the SSPKCLPW mounts to a standard 4″ square × 2-1/8″ deep back box. Therefore, an extension ring is not required. Then, the universal-mount design supports both wall and ceiling installations. Also, tap settings are adjusted with field-selectable jumper pins. In addition, the UL 2043 listing approves the unit for installation in return-air plenum spaces. Furthermore, the tamperproof grill resists unauthorized adjustment. However, the SSPKCLPW is not listed for outdoor use, and operating temperature is 32°–120°F (0°–49°C). For synchronization across multiple speakers, use the Gentex AVSM Control Module per NFPA 72. As a result, this speaker is appropriate for voice-evac and mass-notification systems in commercial buildings.
