The Space Age SSU-SM-501-P is a photoelectric duct smoke detector. It detects smoke moving through HVAC ducts. As a result, it can shut down fans and blowers to stop smoke from spreading.
This is a four-wire, universal-voltage model in a square housing. Furthermore, it serves commercial, industrial, and residential air-handling systems. Therefore, one detector fits many installation types.
Space Age SSU-SM-501-P Power Options
The SM-501 operates on any of four input voltages. Specifically, it accepts 230 VAC, 115 VAC, 24 VAC, or 24 VDC. As a result, it adapts to most existing power sources.
Standby current stays low across all voltages. For example, it draws 15 mA at 24 VDC and 25 mA at 115 VAC. In addition, alarm current ranges from 16 mA to 74 mA by voltage.
Relays and System Wiring
The detector provides Form 1C (SPDT) alarm contacts. Also, it includes two alarm relays and one trouble relay. The contacts switch up to 10 amps resistive.
You can interconnect up to 30 detectors for common functions. Therefore, large duct systems can share alarm and trouble signaling. Confirm your panel interface before ordering.
