The Vesda VSP-980-W is a 6mm standard sampling point for VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection systems. Specifically, it terminates a 6mm microbore tube at the protected ceiling. In addition, the sampling point’s white ABS housing blends into typical white-ceiling installations.
First, the VSP-980-W is used in ceiling-void microbore designs. Therefore, it suits offices, hotels, museums, and other architectural spaces where visible detectors are unwelcome.
How the Vesda VSP-980-W Works
First, microbore tubes route from the VEA detector through the ceiling void. Then, the sampling point exposes the tube end at the ceiling surface. As a result, air from the protected space enters the tube and travels back to the detector.
Furthermore, the sampling point’s inlet uses a swivel joint. Therefore, installers can orient the tube without forcing it into a tight bend.
In addition, each VEA sampling point is fully supervised by the detector end-to-end. As a result, broken tubes, blockages, or removed sampling points generate a fault at the panel.
Installation Options
- First, the sampling point can be directly screwed to the ceiling.
- Alternatively, it can be mounted with the retainer supplied as a standard inclusion.
- However, plan tube routing in the ceiling void before sampling-point placement.
- Finally, follow the VEA system designer’s per-point loading and tube-length limits.
