Installation Notes
First, the CMP/CL3P/FPLP plenum rating allows installation in air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22(C). Then, plenum-rated cable can substitute for riser cable. However, riser-rated cable cannot substitute for plenum. Therefore, specify this cable for runs above suspended ceilings or in return-air ducts. As a result, installers avoid the common code violation of using riser cable in plenum spaces.
