The Edwards 341-B3LT-12J is an industrial safety interlock switch from the 341 GuardSwitch Series. First, it provides defeat-resistant guard monitoring for machine safety circuits. In addition, the unit ships with a 12-foot jacketed lead and LED status indicator. As a result, installers can integrate it directly into safety-monitored relay or monitored interlock systems.
Important: This is an industrial machine-guarding switch, not a fire alarm device. Therefore, it should not be substituted for any UL 268 or UL 464 fire alarm initiating device.
Edwards 341-B3LT-12J Construction and Rating
The 341 GuardSwitch body uses Kynar (PVDF) for chemical and washdown resistance. Also, the housing is sonic-welded for an IP67 environmental rating. Therefore, the switch survives high-pressure washdown and harsh industrial environments. Additionally, the operating temperature range is 14 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
Contacts and Lead Configuration
Internally, the switch uses TPST reed contacts arranged as 2 normally-open plus 1 normally-closed. In addition, an LED indicates actuator presence for quick visual diagnostics. Furthermore, the integral 12-foot jacketed lead uses 22 AWG, 6-conductor cable. Therefore, no separate conduit kit is required for short runs.
Application and Compatibility
Typical applications include machine guard doors, safety gates, and access panels. Specifically, the switch is paired with a safety-monitored relay or PLC safety input. As a result, an open guard de-energizes the protected equipment. However, the 341-B3LT-12J does not transmit any fire alarm signal.
A matching magnet actuator must be ordered separately when needed. Also, the "T" in the part number refers to the T-style actuator alignment. For replacement purposes, confirm fitment by matching the existing GuardSwitch model in the field.
