The Simplex 4100-1273 is a telephone NAC Class A adapter module for 4100ES and 4100U panels.
It converts the existing notification appliance circuits on an amplifier to Class A operation. First, the adapter mounts onto a 4100-1270 or 4100-1272 module. Then it re-routes those circuits for Class A wiring. Notably, it requires no additional current to operate.
Why Class A for the Simplex 4100-1273
Class A wiring adds a return path for fault tolerance. As a result, a single open or short does not disable the circuit. Therefore, the connected devices keep working during a wiring fault.
