Simplex (565-388) 4 Circuit Class A Signal Card

The Simplex 565-388 is a 4-circuit Class A signal card used to add or replace notification appliance circuits on compatible Simplex fire alarm control panels. As a result, you get four supervised Class A (Style Z) NAC outputs from a single board.

Specifically, this card is paired with Simplex 4003 voice control panels and 4009 NAC power extenders in commercial installations. In addition, it is a common spare for facilities still operating legacy Simplex hardware.

What the Simplex 565-388 Does in the Panel

First, the card divides the panel’s NAC output capacity into four independent, supervised circuits. Then, each circuit can be wired Class A for return-path supervision. Therefore, a single open or short on the loop does not silence downstream appliances on the same circuit.

This makes the 565-388 a workhorse board for buildings whose authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requires Class A notification wiring. Also, it is a typical replacement when a damaged board needs to be swapped during a service call.
