The Altronix AL400ULXJ is a single-output 12VDC or 24VDC power supply and charger from the AL400ULX series. Specifically, it supplies 4 A at 12VDC or 3 A at 24VDC, in a red Altronix enclosure.

First, the AL400ULXJ converts 115VAC, 60Hz mains into a single Class 2 power-limited DC output. Then, the installer selects either 12VDC or 24VDC on the board. In addition, an integrated charger maintains a sealed lead-acid or gel backup battery. As a result, the supply transitions to battery on AC loss. Furthermore, three Form C contacts report AC-fail, low-battery, and battery-presence status to the host panel.

Application Note — Derate for Fire-Alarm Use

However, end-use derating applies for UL 1481 fire-protective service. Therefore, confirm with the AL400ULX series installation instructions (AL400ULXJ_DIP.pdf) before applying the unit in a fire-alarm role.
