The Hochiki ATJ-EA is an addressable analog combination heat sensor. It uses both a fixed temperature threshold and a rate-of-rise (ROR) algorithm to detect fire.
First, the panel polls the sensor for raw temperature data using Hochiki’s DCP (Digital Communication Protocol). Then the control panel applies the alarm threshold and the rate-of-rise rule in software. As a result, sensitivity stays adjustable from the panel without changing hardware in the field.
Hochiki ATJ-EA Detection
The fixed-temperature threshold is panel-configurable between 135°F and 190°F. In addition, the rate-of-rise alarm fires at a panel-determined 15°F/min temperature rise. Therefore one sensor covers both slow-growing smoldering fires and fast-flaming events.
Key Specifications
- Operating voltage: 24 – 41 VDC (SLC)
- Standby current: 350 µA
- Alarm current: 500 µA
- Communication: Hochiki DCP (Digital Communication Protocol)
- Operating temperature: 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C)
- Maximum humidity: 95% RH, non-condensing
- UL maximum spacing: 70 feet
